署名入りのレター

K1ビザ（フィアンセビザ）を申請する場合、以下の内容を含んだ英文のレターを米国市民、外国人婚約者それぞれ一部づつご用意頂く必要があります。レター末尾には署名が必要です。

• 婚約者といつ、どこで、どのように知り会ったか

• どのように恋愛関係に発展したか

• 離れている間どのように恋愛関係を継続し続けたか

• 過去2年の間に具体的にいつ、どこで会ったか  (過去2年の間に実際に会っていることがK１ビザの取得条件の一つ） 

• 外国人婚約者がK1ビザを使用して米国へ入国をした日から、90日以内に結婚をするという宣言

（例文）

Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Hanako Yamada. I was born on January 1, 1980 in Tokyo, Japan. I currently live in Japan and work for quality assurance department of a paper company located in Tokyo. 

I met my fiancé, John J. Jackson for the first time at a local bar in Waikiki, Hawaii in July 2001. I was visiting Hawaii with my friends on my vacation. As John had spent two years in Tokyo while he participated JET program, he started talking to us in Japanese. After talking a while, he asked me for my e-mail address. As I thought he was a very fun and nice person, I gave him my e-mail address. After I went back to Japan, I received an e-mail from John saying how much fun he had talking to me when we were at the bar. We started to exchange e-mails, and soon after we started to talk very often on online chat. However, we were still just friends then.

One year after he sent me the first e-mail, we decided to see each other again. This time, John visited me in Japan. John stayed in Japan between September 21, 2002 to October 3, 2002. I took him to many famous tourist spots in Tokyo such as Asakusa, Harajyuku, and Roppongi. We also went to Kyoto and Osaka. Spending time together made me realize how fun and gentleman he was. He was also very interested in Japanese culture and that made me feel very happy.  When I realized, I felt very comfortable spending time with him and I fell in love with him. He felt the same way toward me. The last day he was in Japan, he asked me to be his girl friend. I, of course, accepted it.

After John left Japan, I missed him so much. We kept in touch with each other using online chat, skype video chat, telephone, and e-mail. In August 2003, I visited John in Hawaii. He introduced me to his family and friends then. All of his family members and friends were very sweet to me. They held a welcome party for me and took me to a lot of places. By the time I left Hawaii, I felt very comfortable being around John’s family and friends. Since then, we have visited each other in Japan and Hawaii at least twice a year. John has met my parents and friends and they all love him very much. 

On January 1, 2008, which is my birthday, John proposed me when John was visiting me in Japan. He proposed me at the lookout of Tokyo Tower. He kneeled down with a diamond ring in his hand before me and asked me to marry him. It was one of the most memorable moments of my life.

I would like to apply for K1 fiancé visa as John and I are in love and we would like to live together in the United States and start a family as husband and wife. I promise that within 90 days of my entry to the United States on valid K1 visa, I will marry my fiancé.
