【米国政府情報】移民局申請料金および特急申請の審査期間改定について

2024年1月30日、米国移民局は申請料金と特急申請（Premium Processing）の審査期間の改定を発表しました。このような大規模な料金改定は2016年以来であり、移民局は物価上昇や運営費用の増加に対応する目的と発表しています。後者に関しては、亡命申請審査の処理、未処理案件積み残しの解消、申請者向けシステムの改善等に充てるとしています。
主な改定事項
全体的な値上がりと同時に、ビザカテゴリーごとの費用が設定されます。またスポンサー会社の規模によって申請費用が変わります（フルタイム従業員が米国内のグループ会社全体で25名またはそれ以下の企業は割引料金が適応されます）。
就労ステータス（I-129）、及び永住権の雇用主スポンサー手続き（I-140）の申請時に$600のAsylum Program Feeが課せられます（フルタイム従業員が米国内のグループ会社全体で25名またはそれ以下の企業は$300）。
特急申請（Premium Processing）の審査期間が、就労ステータス（I-129）申請の場合、15日（連邦政府の休業日を含む）から、15営業日（週末、祝日、災害等で連邦政府が休業する日を含まない）に変わります。

【US Government News】Adjustment of Certain USCIS Fees and Timeframe for Premium Processing
On January 30, 2024, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced the significant adjustment to the certain application fees and the revision of expedited processing period (Premium Processing). This is the first major fee revision since 2016, and it is intended to cope with the increase in expenditures due to inflation and operational costs. The USCIS also stated that it would allocate the additional fundings to process asylum applications, clear the backlog of pending cases, and improve the system for applicants.
Main Changes
In addition to the overall increase, the fees will be set according to the visa category. The application fees will also vary depending on the size of the sponsor company (companies with 25 or fewer full-time employees in the U.S., including any affiliates and subsidiaries will pay a discounted fee).
A $600 Asylum Program Fee will be charged for the petition of work status (I-129) and employer-sponsored permanent residence (I-140) (companies with 25 or fewer full-time employees in the U.S., including any affiliates and subsidiaries will pay $300).
The timeframe for Premium Processing for I-129 petition will change from 15 calendar days (including federal government holidays) to 15 business days (excluding weekends, holidays, and days when the federal government is closed due to disasters, etc.).
